HANKJØBENHAVN - fresh in the fight // CPHFW

The HANKJØBENHAVN show was exceptional as it presented inspiring - on the edgy side - cool clothes. The show took place at Børsen, a beautiful old building in Copenhagen, and the setting was just incredible. Instead of a catwalk there was a pingpong table on the middle of a white carpet, and the show centered around this. Because the models were actually pingpong players and played through the show, replacing one another, creating a great atmosphere and mood in the room. As the show went on the at started to become more and more aggressive and in the end; only two players played against each other, with one of them finally winning at last.
But besides the very COOL and FRESH show the clothes was a better experience than expected. I expected a classic Danish menswear brand; chilled colours in navy, white, brown, black, and maybe a curry here and there; and most of all: men wearing menswear in terms of pants, shirts and so on. However there where leggings only with coats, bare feet, dip died hands, white interesting jackets, new interpretations of blazers and so on! This show marked HANKJØBENHAVN as a very important player the in menswear ring corner. They convinced me, at least.
